We firmly believe in buying good things and taking good care of them. With that in mind we felt it was only right to provide you with a guide for looking after your Thread & Tonic pieces. You’ll want them to last forever after all.
Leather will never crease when pumped full of chemicals but ours is chemical free which means there can be some natural creasing. That’s why it’s important to take good care of it. It also means that overtime each item will take on its own unique characteristics, making your piece truly one of a kind.
STORAGE
Store your Thread & Tonic pieces stuffed and upright. Keep them in the Thread & Tonic dust bag provided to protect them.
LEATHER
We recommend doing a quick clean every other day, briskly sweeping your leather bag with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
Once or twice a year, do more of a thorough clean to remove dirt build up and keep your Thread & Tonic pieces feeling good as new.
To extend the life of your leather products, we recommend using our Leather Cream.
Apply evenly with a sponge applicator or cloth. Leave to dry, and buff afterwards with another clean, dry cloth.
METAL
Clean the metal hardware on your pieces regularly by gently rubbing the surface with a soft cloth to restore shine. Be sure to only store your Thread & Tonic pieces in dry places, away from moisture, to stop your hardware from tarnishing.
